Would you like
to be a member?
Members are invited to our annual membership meeting and any other meetings called by and for our members. Once every three years, members nominate and vote for our Board of Directors.
Members receive a 20 percent discount on admission at all retreats, and
are on the "call" list when special activities come up that we don't have time to advertise by flier. More importantly, members sustain this organization's work in promoting access to the Lord Buddha's teachings in the Gelug Lineage.
Monthly dues are
- $15 for students and seniors,
- $25 for individuals, and
- $35 for families.
Dues and donations make it possible for us to continue to provide a stipend to Geshe Damdul Namgyal for his continuing support and aid to us. Your generosity pays for airfare and stipends when we have resident scholars staying in Knoxville. It allows us to bring teachers like The Ven. Thubten Chodron and The Ven. George Churinoff for special retreats. And it allows us to have The Ven. Tenzin Tharpa of Atlanta visit two Sundays a month, when he is not traveling, to help us with our practices, and to provide teachings and pastoral services.
Remember, whether or not you become a member, you are always welcome to any event, program, teaching activity or mailing. This is not an attempt to turn people away. We only wish to get some level of regular financial commitment to keep our organization alive. Each month we barely squeak by.

If you wish to be a member, fill out the membership form using your
name as you would like it to apear on your membership card.
Return the form (or just the information) and your first month dues to 5415F Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
Once you have joined, you may mail your monthly check to the same address or drop it in the donation basket at one of our meetings.
Please make your check payable to "LSLK," and write on the check that it is for dues, and the month to which the dues should be applied (e.g. "Dues - October"). If you pay in cash, please include a note with your name and the month covered.
We will send you a membership card as soon as we receive your first dues.
A statement of dues that have been paid will be sent out quarterly. Members who fail to pay monthly dues are reinstated when they pay either the amount in arrears or three consecutive months.
